NOTES AND REFLECTIONS FROM MY PERSONAL BIBLE STUDY TIME

EPHESIANS 2-5

Ephesians 2:19

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God."

The church we are members of is not just a building where we attend church services. As Christians, the members of the church are our family. The church body becomes a part of who we are as believers. There is a purpose in this body, and our role in this family is to serve one another and the church for the glory of God.

Ephesians 2:20

"Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone."

What a beautiful picture of putting first things first. Jesus makes the building possible. He is the necessary and most important stone, providing a solid foundation. The cornerstone is at the base of the building. It’s laid in the corner to bind two walls together. Not only does it join, but it strengthens and aligns them.
