Life is hard…. I’m not even going to lie. Even on my best days, it’s still hard. How many of you can relate to these in one way or another?
Emotional struggles, overwhelming anxieties, and the search for finding Joy in the midst of it all.
Difficult relationships, whether dealing with them, deciding how to move forward in them, restoring them, or ending them.
Crisis of Faith during doubts, questions, and unknowns.
Work or School disappointments and unexpected outcomes.
Devastating doctor visits that have left you weak, worried and confused
I could go on, but you get it. So much of what happens during our day brings little or no understanding with it, which leave us with feeling uncertain, confused, and hopeless.
No, I can’t offer a magic solution, promise, or remedy to these things. We are humans and limited in our abilities to see tomorrow or a year from now. However, Ephesians 3:20 offers confidence and hope in God’s limitless power and His incredible ability to work in our lives beyond our wildest dreams.
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us." Eph 3:20
Yes, we are limited, but God is not. Even on our darkest days, God isn’t just able to meet our needs—He can do “far more abundantly than we could ever ask or think.” As followers of Christ, His power is at work within us. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28.
God’s ability to do “far more abundantly” in our lives doesn’t mean that there will be no struggles and heartbreak. It doesn’t mean that we will have instant answers and no questions. Truthfully, some of my greatest struggles have brought forth the best fruit.
In the happiest of happiest and the saddest of saddest, God is working in the midst of it for what He deems right and good. God can do more than I can ever ask Him and more than I could ever think, and he does it in abundance. If I can ask it, He can do that plus more. If I can think it, He can do more than that. He can do it over, above, beyond —He does it in abundance. He is God; Holy, Loving, Good, Sovereign, Perfect, Eternal, Unchanging, All-knowing, and ALWAYS in control.
My encouragement to you today, regardless of which season you may be in, is this:
Keep seeking Him.
Keep trusting Him.
Keep reading His Words.
Keep opening your heart and mouth to Him in humble prayer.
Keep believing in His Goodness.
Keep proclaiming His Truths to the world.
Keep being a Light to the darkness.
And always remember that through it all, God is there, He is with you, He is working in you, and on the good days and bad, He “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”
